Opus Clip vs Nexus Clips: what each one shows you before you pay

By the KeyMo team · Updated

OpusClip and Nexus Clips both cut long videos into vertical clips. OpusClip publishes plan prices and a credit rule; Nexus Clips lists a Free plan with a watermark but no public PRO price on the pages we could read. Its FAQ lists MP4 or MOV files up to 4 GB. KeyMo starts at $12 a month, has no free plan and never adds a watermark.

Opus Clip vs Nexus Clips side by side

Both tools find moments in a long video, reframe them to vertical and add animated subtitles. The difference is how much each vendor lets you see without signing up. Everything below was read from each vendor's own pages on 2026-10-11, with KeyMo in a third column.

Checked 2026-10-11. Nexus Clips' PRO price sits behind its sign-in, so no figure is given here.

What Nexus Clips does not tell a visitor

The Nexus Clips pricing page redirects logged-out visitors to the home page, so we could not read what PRO costs. The FAQ labels annual billing "Yearly discount (60%)" but never names the monthly price. If you are comparing budgets, you will have to create an account and look.

Its own pages also disagree with each other in places. Landing pages promise "full access without limits" and no credits, while the FAQ says the AI tools share a monthly usage allowance with Standard, Premium and Ultra tiers and gives no figure. The FAQ says Clips has no duration limit inside the 4 GB cap, while Video Editing stops at 40 minutes and the upload check rejects videos of one minute or less. App text also lists Twitch import and captions as "coming soon", though the FAQ and plan text describe them.

Much of the site is written for streamers. Its streamers page lists an automatic clipper for finished streams, Multikill detection for League of Legends and Valorant, and a mobile Streamdeck for live clips. It also has a podcast clip page, so podcasts are a stated use case, though the testimonials shown there come from YouTube and Twitch creators.

Where OpusClip is ahead, and where Nexus Clips is

OpusClip wins on transparency and range. You can see the Free, Starter and Pro prices, the credit rule and the rollover policy before you register. It accepts videos up to 10 hours, reads many link sources and adds a Virality Score from 0 to 99 on Starter and Pro. Pro also adds a two-seat team workspace and scheduling to nine social platforms.

Nexus Clips wins on a few narrow points, and they are real. Its Free plan needs no card and still lets you turn part of a horizontal Twitch stream into a captioned vertical clip. Its FAQ describes Twitch import without tying it to a paid plan, but other app text calls Twitch import "coming soon", so check that it works before you plan around it. If your footage is live-stream footage, it is still the one built around it. Its PRO plan also lists direct publishing to TikTok and YouTube.

A worked example: one 60-minute podcast file

Say you export a 60-minute episode at 10 Mbps, a plausible bitrate we chose for the example, not a vendor number. The file is about 4.5 GB (10 Mbps x 3,600 seconds / 8). That is over Nexus Clips' 4 GB per-file cap, so you would need to re-encode it first. The same file is under the 10 GB limit at both OpusClip and KeyMo.

At OpusClip it would cost 60 credits, since credits follow source minutes. That equals the whole monthly Free allowance, with a watermark, or a fifth of one Pro pack. At KeyMo it uses 60 of the 300 minutes on Starter, and the vertical output carries no watermark.

OpusClips or Nexus Clips? A decision rule

  • Pick Nexus Clips if your footage is live-stream footage, you want to try it with no card, and you can accept a watermark on Free.
  • Pick OpusClip if you want the full price list in advance, files longer than 4 GB, or a scheduler and team workspace. See the OpusClip pricing breakdown for the credit maths.
  • Pick KeyMo if the source is a podcast or interview of 5 minutes to 3 hours and you want scored clips (7 out of 10 or higher), 12 caption styles and no watermark from the first export. There is no free plan, so the cheapest way in is Starter at $12. The KeyMo vs OpusClip page has the plan-by-plan view.

FAQ

Is Nexus Clips free to use?

Nexus Clips has a Free plan with no card required. It covers manual clip editing, and every Free export carries a Nexus watermark. The AI clip detection and watermark-free clips belong to its PRO plan.

How much does Nexus Clips PRO cost?

We could not confirm a price. The pricing page on nexusclips.com sends logged-out visitors back to the home page, and the FAQ names only an annual discount of 60%. Create an account to see the figure for your country.

Which handles longer videos, OpusClip or Nexus Clips?

OpusClip states support for videos up to 10 hours. Nexus Clips caps each file at 4 GB and says the Video Editing tool stops at 40 minutes, while its Clips tool has no stated duration limit inside the file size cap.

Does Nexus Clips put a watermark on exports?

On the Free plan, yes. Its FAQ says Free exports include a watermark and that PRO creates clips without one. Its YouTube clip maker page also says "no watermark" without naming a plan, so the FAQ is the safer reading.

Can I get a refund from Nexus Clips?

Its FAQ says no, citing the high cost of AI processing. You can cancel any time from account settings, and PRO access then runs until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
