Opus Clip vs Vizard AI: what each charges per source minute

By the KeyMo team · Updated

Opus Clip and Vizard AI both spend one credit per source minute, and both give a free plan with a watermark and a 3-day expiry. Vizard's lowest paid tier lists from 600 credits for $29 a month, while OpusClip's $29 Pro pack lists 300. KeyMo is not credit based: Starter is $12 for 300 source minutes, with no watermark on any plan.

Vizard vs Opus Clip at a glance

These two are the closest match in the category. Each takes a long video, finds moments, and hands back vertical clips, and each meters usage in credits that map to minutes of the video you upload. The table below lists what each vendor publishes on its own pages, with KeyMo added for long podcasts. Prices are in US dollars and were read on 2026-10-11, so confirm on the vendor's site before you pay.

Checked 2026-10-11. Vizard shows only its lowest usage tier as a price; higher tiers exist but their prices could not be read as text.

Vizard vs Opus: how the credits behave

On OpusClip, processing costs one credit per minute of the original video. A 30-minute upload is 30 credits, partial minutes round down, and anything under a minute rounds up to one credit. Monthly credits expire after 60 days, which means unused ones roll over for one extra month. A yearly plan receives the whole year of credits at purchase, valid for 12 months.

Vizard counts the same way: one credit is one minute processed, and it is charged once per project even if you use both AI clipping and transcription on it. Each release of credits stays valid for 2 months on a monthly plan and 13 months on a yearly one. If you move from Creator to the Business plan, unused Creator credits do not roll over.

One trap: Vizard's own "Opus alternative" page prices the two at $14.5 per 600 minutes against $29 per 600 minutes, marked as updated in April 2025. OpusClip's pricing page today shows 300 credits per $29 Pro pack, so that comparison no longer lines up. Use the numbers in the table above, and read any vendor's comparison of a rival with the date in mind. For the single-vendor view, see OpusClip pricing and KeyMo against Vizard.

Where Opus Clip is stronger

  • Scoring and volume guidance. OpusClip documents a virality score from 0 to 99 on Starter and Pro, and publishes expected clip counts, for example 23 to 32 clips from a 30 to 60 minute video.
  • Where the video can come from. Free imports from YouTube and local files; Starter adds Google Drive, Vimeo, Zoom, Rumble and StreamYard; Pro adds Twitch, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Dropbox, Loom, Riverside and more.
  • Extras around the clip on Pro: AI B-roll, social scheduling, speech enhancement, video dubbing, intro and outro cards, and export to Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
  • 4K export on Pro, but only when the source video is genuinely 4K. It does not upscale.

Where Vizard is stronger

  • Price per minute at the entry tier, if the 600 credits belong to the $29 price as the page's "From 600" suggests. On that reading the same $29 buys about twice the minutes OpusClip's one-pack Pro plan does, by the vendors' own figures.
  • More transcription languages on paper: 40 listed on its help centre (page dated 4 February 2026), against OpusClip's over 25, of which five are out of beta.
  • Longer rollover on yearly plans: each release of credits is valid for 13 months, against 12 months on OpusClip.
  • A Business tier at $39 a month on the same usage tier, with a shared workspace and 20 connected social accounts, and extra team members at $5 a month per seat. OpusClip's Business plan is custom priced.

Worked example: four 60-minute episodes in a month

A weekly show with a one-hour episode needs 240 source minutes in a four-week month. This is arithmetic from the published rules, not a timed test.

Tool and planAllowanceCovers 240 minutes?Left over
OpusClip Starter, $15150 creditsNo: 90 credits shortNone
OpusClip Pro, $29300 creditsYes60 credits, kept one extra month
Vizard Creator, lowest tier, $29From 600 creditsYesAbout 360 credits, valid 2 months
KeyMo Starter, $12300 source minutesYes60 minutes, which do not carry over

A fifth episode brings the total to 300 minutes, which exactly empties OpusClip Pro and KeyMo Starter. Vizard's tier has room for a second show. If you only need to clip one hour a month, both free plans fit it, but the exports carry a watermark and expire after 3 days, which makes them a poor fit for anything you plan to post. Our guides on Vizard's watermark and OpusClip's watermark cover what each free export looks like.

Opus or Vizard: which to pick

  • Pick Vizard if you want the most minutes for about $29 and your files fit the upload limits you have confirmed with Vizard.
  • Pick OpusClip if you want its documented 0 to 99 virality score on each clip, many link sources, B-roll and Premiere or DaVinci export, or you want a $15 entry plan with a lower commitment.
  • Prompt-guided clipping should not decide this. Vizard's help centre describes asking for a topic, and OpusClip's pricing page lists Prompt to clip on Pro.
  • Pick KeyMo if the job is long podcasts to vertical clips and you want a flat monthly price with no watermark on any plan, a 7-out-of-10 score floor so weak episodes return fewer clips, and 12 caption styles. KeyMo has no free plan and no trial, and it exports 9:16 only.
  • If you are undecided between the first two, run your own episode through each free plan before paying either, and look at the watermark and the clip expiry date.

Both state limits above that length, with OpusClip at 10 hours and Vizard at 10 hours in its help centre, although Vizard's pricing table says 600 minutes. KeyMo accepts up to 3 hours per video.
