FAQ

Does Captions make clips from long videos?

Yes, with its Clips feature. Per its Clips page it takes a video file up to 3 hours and 10 GB, or a YouTube or public link, and returns up to 30+ clips. The pricing page lists Clips on Max ($24.99 a month) and above (captions.ai, checked 11 October 2026).

Does Captions have a free plan?

Yes. The free plan has basic tools such as trimming and transitions and one caption template. Its pricing page shows no AI usage credits for Free, while its help centre says 60-200 lifetime credits. AI features need a paid plan to export.

How do Captions credits work?

Credits are spent by AI features, for example AI Edit costs 10-40 credits and chat-based editing costs 2 credits per message plus 1 per action. Unused credits roll over on Basic and above, up to 3 times the monthly allowance. KeyMo counts minutes of source video instead.
