Podcast clip maker without a watermark: free is the catch

By the KeyMo team · Updated

KeyMo is not a free podcast clip maker: it has no free plan and no trial. It is a paid one that adds no watermark on any plan. Starter is $12 a month for 300 source minutes, which covers five 60-minute episodes. The free tiers we read swap the watermark for caps on minutes, resolution or storage time.

Free, clean, or both: where KeyMo stands

To be plain up front: KeyMo has no free plan and no trial. If you searched for a free podcast clip maker without watermark, KeyMo is the paid answer, and it is the no-watermark half that it delivers on. Nothing KeyMo exports carries a logo, on Starter or Pro.

That is a different bargain from most free podcast shorts makers, which keep the cost at zero by limiting something else. The next section shows what, tool by tool, using only what each vendor's own pages say.

OpusClip60 credits a month, clips stop being exportable after 3 days, no editingYes
Vizard60 credits of uploads, projects expire after 3 daysYes, a Vizard.ai mark
ReapUp to 1 hour a month of clipping, 720p, projects expire in 7 daysYes
Kapwing10 credits, exports up to 4 minutes, 720pYes, on every free export
Spikes StudioDemo clips, 720p, basic editorYes
Wisecut30 minutes a month, 480p, exports up to 3 minutesLists No watermark on the free plan
KlapOne video, no cardSays it adds none, even on the free plan
Choppity1 hour of AI analysis a month, 3-day project storageIts own pages disagree

Two honest readings. Wisecut and Klap do advertise cost-free use without a watermark, but at 480p and one video respectively. And Choppity's free clip maker page says free exports carry a small watermark while its podcast clip page says the free tier has none, so test before you trust either.

What those caps do to a podcast

Podcasts are long, and long input is where free tiers pinch. Take one 60-minute episode.

  • OpusClip's Free plan gives 60 processing minutes a month. One hour-long episode uses the month.
  • Reap's free plan allows up to 1 hour of clipping a month, again one episode.
  • Kapwing's free exports run up to 4 minutes, and Wisecut's up to 3 minutes at 480p. Both are short next to a typical episode.
  • OpusClip stops exports after 3 days and Vizard projects expire after 3 days, so late editing can mean starting over.

None of that is a flaw in the vendors' plans. It is how a cost-free tier works. It just matters more to a podcaster than to someone clipping a three-minute video.

What $12 a month buys in podcast episodes

Per-episode figures are the plan price divided by the number of 60-minute episodes it covers
PlanPriceSource minutes60-minute episodesPer episode
Starter$12 a month3005$2.40
Pro$29 a month90015About $1.93

Minutes are counted on the length of the episode you put in, not on how many clips come out. They reset each billing period and do not carry over. Visitors in India see Rs 799 and Rs 1,999. Yearly is ten times monthly.

What a podcast episode returns

KeyMo exports up to 15 vertical 9:16 clips per video at 1080x1920, 30 fps, in H.264 with AAC audio. Clip length is Auto (15 to 90 seconds), Short, Medium or Long. Each clip has a score out of 10 and a one-line reason. Only 7 or higher survive, so a thin episode gives fewer clips.

The built-in target for a 60-minute episode is 8 to 12 clips. That is a target, not a measured result. The reframe follows faces automatically, silence is trimmed, there are 12 caption styles with word-by-word timing, and a music library sorted by mood. The page for podcast clip generator walks through the full flow.

Who should skip KeyMo

  • You need a cost-free tool. There is none here.
  • Your podcast is audio only. KeyMo accepts MP4 and MOV video, and audio files are not on the list of inputs.
  • Your episodes are under 5 minutes or over 3 hours.
  • You need 16:9 clips as well. KeyMo exports only vertical.
  • You want to clip someone else's show without permission. Link import asks you to confirm you own it or have permission, and is it legal to clip podcasts explains why that matters.

FAQ

Is there a free podcast clip maker with no watermark?

A few tiers say so, with limits: Wisecut lists no watermark at 480p with exports up to 3 minutes, and Klap offers one video. KeyMo has no free plan, but adds no watermark on any paid one.

Why do free podcast clip makers add a watermark?

Vendors do not all say why. On the pages we read, the pattern is that the free plan carries the mark and a paid plan lists its removal, as with OpusClip's Free and Starter plans.

How many clips come from a 60-minute podcast episode?

KeyMo's built-in target for a video up to 60 minutes is 8 to 12 clips. Only clips scoring 7 out of 10 or higher are kept, so a weaker episode returns fewer.

Does KeyMo work with an audio-only podcast?

KeyMo takes MP4 or MOV video files, from 5 minutes to 3 hours. Audio-only formats are not listed, so an audio show needs a video version of the episode first.

Can I clip a podcast I do not own?

Only with permission. KeyMo asks you to confirm you own the video or have permission before link import. A public episode is not automatically free to reuse.

What does the cheapest KeyMo plan cover for a weekly show?

Starter's 300 source minutes cover five 60-minute episodes in a billing period, so a weekly hour-long show fits with one episode to spare in a four-week month.
