Choppity review: plans, limits and where its pages disagree
By the KeyMo team · Updated
This Choppity review uses only Choppity's own pages, read on 11 October 2026. We did not test it or gather user reviews. Choppity has a free plan with 1 hour of AI analysis and paid plans from $24 a month, and its pages disagree on whether free exports carry a watermark. KeyMo has no free plan and no watermark on any plan.
How this Choppity review was built
Choppity's site has no help centre link in its navigation or footer. The in-page FAQs, chat support and a contact route are what we could read, so some limits are missing and are listed as unknown rather than guessed.
What Choppity does
Choppity cuts a long video into short clips, reframes them and burns in captions. Its clip maker page says you can drop in a YouTube, Vimeo or Twitch URL or upload an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV file up to 10GB. The same page says the AI handles videos up to 2 hours, and comparison tables on two tool pages describe uploads as capped at 10 GB or 120 minutes per file. The pricing page states neither number.
Every clip comes with relevance scoring, and you can type a request, for example to find every moment a name is mentioned, so the AI prioritises those clips. Captions are animated, word by word and editable. They update when you edit the transcript, and multi-speaker videos can get a caption colour per speaker. Framing follows the active speaker and can build split-screen layouts, with manual crop boxes. A framing page says export is available in 16:9, 9:16 and square.
Editing works from the transcript: delete a word and Choppity cuts it from the video. There is a one-toggle option to beep or mute swear words. The homepage says you can post or schedule to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn, and the pricing page lists scheduling from Starter. The What's new page lists releases from October 2025 to April 2026, the latest being an ideas board, planner and scheduler.
On volume, one tool page says a 60-minute video typically gives 20 to 40 clips in 10 to 15 minutes. The homepage FAQ says 20 to 50 or more. Both are vendor estimates, not measured results.
Choppity plans and limits, checked 11 October 2026
| Plan | Monthly price | Yearly toggle | AI analysis | Also listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | n/a | 1 hour | 2GB storage; projects kept 3 days; chat support |
| Starter | $24 | $16.80 a month, $201.60 billed yearly | 3 hours | 40GB; projects kept 30 days; 1080p HD and 4K exports; scheduling; 1 social account |
| Creator | $32 | $22.4 a month | 5 hours | 100GB; projects kept forever; bulk upload up to 10; 3 social accounts; custom fonts; API access |
| Team | $48 | $33.6 a month | 5 hours | 200GB; unlimited seats; 6 social accounts; roles, shared workspace, usage reporting |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom AI clipper, unlimited social accounts, MSA |
| KeyMo Starter | $12 | 10x monthly for a year | 300 source minutes | No watermark; no free plan |
| KeyMo Pro | $29 | 10x monthly for a year | 900 source minutes | No watermark; no free plan |
Choppity sells hours of "AI video analysis," not credits, and says usage resets on the first day of every calendar month. The FAQ also mentions "Creator packs" of 0.5 hours and 10GB, but no pack or slider appears on the plan cards we read.
A worked example: you record four 90-minute interviews a month, 360 minutes or 6 hours. That is above the 5 hours listed on Creator ($32) and Team ($48), if analysis hours track source length, which the page does not spell out. On KeyMo, 360 source minutes needs the $29 Pro plan (900 minutes). Starter's 300 minutes would fall short, so the lower plan price does not always apply.
The watermark question, and the small print
Choppity's pages give two answers. The free clip maker page and the YouTube to Shorts page say free exports include a small Choppity watermark that paid plans remove. The podcast clip generator and free caption tool pages say there are no watermarks on the free tier. The pricing page does not mention it, and its comparison table shows a dash for Free exports. If this matters to you, export one test clip before you plan a workflow.
- Exports: Starter and above list "1080p HD & 4K." A tool page says Shorts are exported in 9:16 at up to 1080p with captions burned in.
- Refunds: requests must be made within 14 days of payment through a support case, which Choppity evaluates. After 14 days, partial months are not refunded.
- Cancelling: access ends at the end of the current billing period, and clips and exports are kept until then. Plan changes apply on the next billing cycle.
- Terms: Choppity reserves the right to make previously free parts of the service subject to a fee, without notice.
- Discounts: non-profits and charities are invited to get in touch. No discount is stated.
What Choppity does well, per its own pages
- A free plan with no credit card, so you can try the editor first.
- Plenty of editing control: transcript editing, speaker-aware framing, custom fonts and brand templates.
- Several output shapes: 16:9, 9:16 and square.
- Scheduling and a calendar inside the product, plus an API from the Creator plan.
- A team plan with shared workspace and roles, which KeyMo does not describe.
- Natural-language requests, which help when you want clips about a specific topic or person.
Where Choppity's pages conflict, and what is missing
- Entry price: the pricing page shows Starter at $24, but comparison tables say "Paid from $19/mo" and another page says Starter is $20.
- Team plan: the card says unlimited seats and 5 hours, while the FAQ says plans start at 3 seats with 3 hours each.
- Audience size: some pages say 500,000+ users and others 90,000+.
- Languages: 40+ on caption tools, 97 on transcription pages.
- Missing: a single maximum video length per plan, overage prices, and whether Free users can export at all.
- Safe and legit: Choppity publishes terms and a named operating company, but public pages cannot verify reliability. Read the terms and test with footage you can afford to lose.
Who Choppity suits, and how KeyMo differs
Choppity is the better pick if you want a free plan, square or landscape export, a calendar and scheduler, or a team workspace. It also suits editors who want to shape each clip by hand through the transcript.
KeyMo suits people who would rather review than edit. You upload an MP4 or MOV (5 minutes to 3 hours) or paste a YouTube link on a paid plan, and receive up to 15 vertical clips with a score out of 10 and a one-line reason. Only clips scoring 7 or higher are kept. There are 12 caption styles, an automatic face-tracking reframe, a chat editor and a ZIP export. Source files are kept 7 days and clips 30 days.
Prices and plan sizes are on KeyMo pricing. For a direct comparison see Choppity vs Opus Clip, or browse Choppity alternatives.
