StreamLadder alternative: plans, pricing and the watermark question

By the KeyMo team · Updated

StreamLadder is built for streamers, so KeyMo is an alternative mainly for long podcasts and interviews. StreamLadder has a free plan and a 7-day trial. KeyMo has neither: Starter is $12 a month for 300 source minutes. StreamLadder's AI clipping, ClipGPT, starts on its Creator plan and its help centre says it takes Twitch and Kick broadcasts (checked 11 October 2026).

Who StreamLadder is for

StreamLadder is a clip editor and AI clipper for streamers. Its clip editor takes a Twitch, YouTube or Kick clip link, or a file upload, and turns it into a vertical, horizontal or square video with captions. Its AI clipper, ClipGPT, scans a whole broadcast, cuts the detected moments to 9:16 and keeps the webcam framed. Its own Opus Clip comparison page says StreamLadder is built specifically for live streaming and calls Opus Clip great at repurposing talking-head videos and podcasts, though it adds that for podcasts and commentary streams both tools work.

That fits a Twitch or Kick channel that wants many clips from long streams. It fits less well if your raw material is a seated podcast or interview on YouTube, and that is where KeyMo is aimed. If you clip streams and want another option, Eklipse sells Premium at $24.99 a month on its web plans, with 20 VOD credits a month, according to its help centre.

StreamLadder plans and pricing

ProRs 3,783Not read4K, 60 fps2 GBEverything in Creator, plus posting to X; auto-posting and workspace invites are marked as coming soon

The part that matters for clipping is where the AI clipper sits. The home page says the free plan covers the clip editor, converter and downloader, while ClipGPT starts at Creator. So the fair comparison with KeyMo's AI clipping is StreamLadder's Creator plan against KeyMo Starter, not StreamLadder's Starter plan. Open both pricing pages in your own currency to compare.

Is StreamLadder good, legit, worth it?

People also search for StreamLadder on Reddit and Trustpilot. We do not use forum threads or review sites as sources on KeyMo, because we cannot check who wrote them or when. So we cannot tell you what users say. What we can do is read what StreamLadder itself publishes and say where it holds together and where it does not.

  • Legit, as far as its own pages show: it publishes terms of service governed by the laws of The Netherlands, a help centre with cancellation steps, and a support page that says a small Europe-based team aims to reply within two working days. That is a description of what it publishes, not a guarantee of how it behaves.
  • Its numbers do not agree with each other. The home page says 12 million clips by 1 million streamers, other pages say 11 million, and the pricing page says over 300k creators. Treat all of them as marketing.
  • Its pages disagree about YouTube. The home page says ClipGPT works with Twitch, YouTube and Kick VODs, the ClipGPT page says to upload a YouTube stream file, and the help centre says ClipGPT supports only Twitch and Kick broadcasts and YouTube VODs are not supported.
  • The terms say payments are non-refundable and there are no credits for unused time, though you can cancel in Account Settings and keep access until the billing period ends. The terms were last updated on 21 May 2021.

Is it worth it? Use a rule. If you stream on Twitch or Kick and want clips cut from each broadcast, Creator is the plan that does that and is a reasonable test, helped by the 7-day trial. If you only want to trim and caption clips you already have, the free plan does that. If your source is a one-hour podcast, check that the tool accepts it before you pay.

StreamLadder watermark: when it appears and how to remove it

StreamLadder's home page says basic editing never adds a watermark on any plan. If you use Starter-level clip editor features on the free plan, it adds a watermark so you can try those features before upgrading. So the watermark comes from using paid features while on the free plan, not from the free plan alone.

  • To export without it, either stay with basic editing on the free plan, or upgrade to a paid plan. The page does not describe a separate watermark-removal tool.
  • A watermark-free export from the free plan is limited to 720p at 30 fps, with a 200 MB upload cap.
  • To get 1080p at 60 fps with all editor features you need a paid plan, starting at Starter.
  • KeyMo exports have no watermark on any plan and are 1080x1920 at 30 fps, so there is nothing to remove, but there is also no free plan to export from.

Where StreamLadder is better

  • A real free plan, and a 7-day free trial for new users with full access, including ClipGPT. KeyMo has no free plan and no trial.
  • Built for streams. ClipGPT is meant for Twitch and Kick broadcasts and gives each moment a 0 to 100 score. A single Creator plan allows up to 30 clips from each stream.
  • More export choices. The clip editor makes 9:16, 16:9 and 1:1 videos, and Pro exports at 4K and 60 fps. KeyMo only exports vertical 9:16 at 1080x1920 and 30 fps.
  • Posting and scheduling to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram from Starter, and a free mobile app for iOS and Android that shares the same subscriptions. This page does not claim posting for KeyMo.
  • Editing extras: it lists auto-captions in 90+ languages, an automatic bleep for swear words, silence removal, text to speech, and music and sound effects.
  • Sold per plan, not by the minute. Creator is described as unlimited ClipGPT use, so heavy stream channels are not counting source minutes the way KeyMo does.

Where KeyMo is better

  • Built for a seated conversation, not for a stream. KeyMo takes a pasted YouTube link or an MP4 or MOV file, from 5 minutes to 3 hours and up to 10 GB, and scores the moments it finds.
  • Built around minutes of source video. KeyMo Starter is $12 a month for 300 source minutes, while StreamLadder's AI clipper sits on its Creator plan, so compare both pricing pages in your currency.
  • A score out of 10 with a one-line reason for every clip, and only clips scoring 7 or higher are kept. A weak episode returns fewer clips, so there is little to sift. Built-in targets are 3 to 5 clips from a video up to 15 minutes, and 8 to 12 up to an hour. These are design targets, not measured results.
  • No watermark and 1080x1920 output on every plan. StreamLadder's free plan is capped at 720p.
  • Twelve caption styles with word-by-word timing, face-tracking reframe, silence trimming, a chat editor, a music library with moods, and a ZIP of all clips.
  • Prices in rupees for visitors in India: Rs 799 for Starter and Rs 1,999 for Pro.

FAQ

Is StreamLadder free?

Partly. StreamLadder has a free plan with the clip editor, a converter and a downloader at 720p and 30 fps. ClipGPT starts on the Creator plan, and it also offers a 7-day free trial for new users with full access.

How much does StreamLadder cost?

StreamLadder has a free plan and three paid plans: Starter, Creator and Pro. Its pricing page shows prices in the visitor's local currency, and on 11 October 2026 a visitor in India saw Rs 1,455, Rs 2,619 and Rs 3,783 a month. Open its pricing page to see your own price.

How do I remove the StreamLadder watermark?

Its home page says basic editing never adds one, and that trying Starter editor features on the free plan does. Stay with basic editing on the free plan, or upgrade to a paid plan to export those features clean.

Is StreamLadder legit?

Its site publishes terms, a help centre and cancellation steps, and names The Netherlands as the governing law. We cannot vouch for how it treats customers, so read its refund terms, which say payments are non-refundable, first.

Is there a free StreamLadder alternative?

KeyMo is not one, since it has no free plan and no trial. StreamLadder's own free plan is the closest free option, and the page on free Submagic alternatives lists other clippers with free tiers and their limits.

Can StreamLadder turn a long podcast into clips?

Its help centre says ClipGPT takes only Twitch and Kick broadcasts, and its plan table lists file uploads of up to 10 GB for import. Its Opus Clip comparison page says that for podcasts both tools work, so test one episode on the free trial first.
