AutoShorts.ai alternative: pricing, reviews and a different kind of tool
By the KeyMo team · Updated
AutoShorts.ai and KeyMo do different jobs. AutoShorts.ai writes and posts new faceless videos from a topic, from $19 a month. KeyMo cuts vertical clips out of a podcast or long video you already have, from $12 a month. If you have footage, KeyMo is the closer match. If you want an automated faceless channel, it is not.
What AutoShorts.ai actually does
AutoShorts.ai is a faceless video generator. You set up a "Series" by choosing a topic or writing a custom prompt, and the tool writes a script, generates AI images, adds background music and posts each new video on a schedule. Its own FAQ says it was not designed for a single video, but for a series on a regular schedule.
The pages we read describe no way to upload or paste a source video to be clipped. Input is a topic, a preset or a prompt. So if you searched for "apps like AutoShorts.ai" hoping to find another prompt-to-video generator, KeyMo is not one. If you meant a tool for turning an existing episode into Shorts, Reels and TikToks, that is what KeyMo does.
AutoShorts.ai plans and pricing, checked 11 October 2026
Prices below were read with the Monthly toggle selected on the homepage pricing section. The page has a Yearly switch labelled "2 months free!", but we did not read the yearly figures.
| Plan | Price per month | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| FREE | $0 (FAQ: temporarily suspended) | 1 video, 1 Series, 0 motion credits; the FAQ says paid plans remove the watermark |
| STARTER | $19 | Posts 3 times a week; 1 Series; 27 motion credits; no watermark |
| DAILY | $39 | Posts once a day; 1 Series; 62 motion credits; no watermark |
| HARDCORE | $69 | Posts twice a day; 1 Series; 124 motion credits; no watermark |
| KeyMo Starter | $12 | 300 source minutes; up to 15 clips a video; no watermark |
| KeyMo Pro | $29 | 900 source minutes; up to 15 clips a video; no watermark |
The plans are not measured the same way. AutoShorts.ai limits how often it posts and how many motion credits you get. KeyMo limits how many minutes of source video you submit. That means you cannot work out a price per minute, and a price comparison only makes sense once you know which job you need done. More on KeyMo's plans at KeyMo pricing.
Motion credits animate still images, which the tool makes by default for each scene. Image credits for regenerating pictures refill on a 30-day cycle, and the number per plan is not stated.
What AutoShorts.ai does better
- It needs no footage. If you have no podcast, interview or stream, it can still make videos from a topic. KeyMo cannot, because it only clips video you provide.
- Scheduled posting. It posts to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram for you. This page does not claim KeyMo posts anything; you download the clips and post them yourself.
- Voice cloning and background music are listed on every paid plan, and videos use AI-made images.
- Languages. Its FAQ lists 30, Hindi among them. We make no claim about language support for KeyMo.
- Self-serve cancelling from the dashboard billing page, and a stated right to use or sell the videos you generate.
- Past videos can be downloaded for up to 120 days.
What KeyMo does better
- It works on your real footage: paste a YouTube link on a paid plan or upload an MP4 or MOV from 5 minutes to 3 hours, up to 10 GB. The AutoShorts.ai pages describe no clipping from existing video.
- Each clip carries a score out of 10 and a one-line reason. Only 7 and above are kept, so a weak episode returns fewer clips. Targets are 3 to 5 clips from a video up to 15 minutes, 5 to 8 up to 30, 8 to 12 up to 60, and up to 15 beyond that. These are built-in targets, not results anyone measured.
- Automatic face-tracking reframe to 9:16, silence trimmed, 1080x1920 at 30 fps.
- 12 caption styles with word-by-word captions. The AutoShorts.ai FAQ and pricing pages we read do not describe captions.
- A chat editor for any clip, a music library with moods and a ZIP export of all clips.
- No watermark on any plan.
Is AutoShorts.ai worth it? Reviews and Reddit
Worth depends on the job. For a hands-off faceless channel where the tool picks topics, writes scripts and posts on a schedule, the plans are built for that. For repurposing a show you already make, it is the wrong category, and no price makes it right.
People also search for "autoshorts ai reddit" and "autoshorts review". We do not cite forum threads or third-party reviews, because we cannot check them against the vendor, and we have not run AutoShorts.ai ourselves. Two things from its own pages are worth knowing before you pay.
- No refunds. Its FAQ says it cannot offer them and that you agree at sign-up to give up the right. You can cancel to stop future billing.
- The homepage still shows a $0 plan, but the FAQ says the free plan is temporarily suspended because of abuse, so do not count on a free test.
Who should pick which
- Pick AutoShorts.ai if you want a faceless channel that runs on a schedule and you are happy to give it a topic and let it write the videos.
- Pick KeyMo if you already record podcasts, interviews, streams or talks and want the best moments cut into vertical clips you can review and post.
- If you want a podcast workflow, start with KeyMo for podcasts or the guide on clipping a podcast.
The two can sit side by side. Nothing stops a channel from running a faceless series and also posting clips of its own episodes.
