Free Klap alternatives: which clippers cost nothing, and what they limit

By the KeyMo team · Updated

Klap's own free offer is a single video with no card, and Klap says it never adds a watermark. Free alternatives exist at OpusClip, Vizard, reap, quso.ai and Spikes Studio, but they usually add a watermark, cap export at 720p or delete projects within days. KeyMo has no free plan: its cheapest plan is $12 a month, with no watermark.

What Klap's free offer actually is

Klap's homepage FAQ says "You can try out Klap and create 1 video for free." Its tool pages repeat it as one free video with no credit card. That is a single run, not a monthly allowance, so it works as a test and not as a free plan you can live on.

Klap also says on a tool page that it never adds watermarks, even on the free plan. That is the bar to measure other free tiers against, because most of the tools below cannot match it. The pages we read do not say how long that one free video can be or what resolution it exports at.

  • Free: 1 video, no credit card (klap.app homepage and tool pages).
  • Paid, shown billed yearly: Basic $14 a month for 100 clips, Pro $39 for 300 clips, Pro+ $94 for 1,000 clips.
  • Klap's homepage FAQ also mentions Klap Pro at $29 a month, which does not match the pricing page. Confirm the price at checkout.

Free tiers of other clippers, as of 11 October 2026

Every row below was read from the tool's own pricing or help page on 11 October 2026. Free tiers change often and several of these vendors' pages disagree with each other, so treat the table as a starting point and check the pricing page before you sign up.

What the free tiers cost you

A free tier is usually a demo. Four limits show up again and again:

  • A watermark on the clip, which makes it unusable for a brand or paid channel.
  • 720p export, when a 9:16 clip is meant to be 1080x1920 for a full-screen look.
  • Short storage. Three days at OpusClip, Vizard and Kapwing, seven at reap, quso.ai and Spikes Studio.
  • No or limited editing. OpusClip's free plan has none.

The decision rule is simple. If you only want to judge how well a tool picks moments, a free tier is enough. If the clips will be posted under your name, assume the free tier is a test and budget for a paid plan, or compare the watermark-free guide at AI captions without a watermark.

What a watermark-free paid clip costs instead

KeyMo has no free plan. You pay before your first video, and every plan exports 9:16 at 1080x1920 with no watermark. Starter is $12 a month for 300 minutes of source video, Pro is $29 for 900, and yearly billing is ten times the monthly price. Visitors in India see Rs 799 and Rs 1,999.

A worked example: five 60-minute episodes use 300 minutes, which is exactly Starter. KeyMo's built-in target for a video up to 60 minutes is 8 to 12 clips, and only clips scoring 7 out of 10 or higher are kept, so a weak episode returns fewer. Those are targets, not measured results.

ToolCheapest paid plan we readWhat it coversWatermark and export
KeyMo$12 a month (Starter)300 minutes of source videoNone; 1080x1920
Klap$14 a month, billed yearly (Basic)100 clips a monthKlap says none, even on free
reap$9.99 a month shown, $119.88 billed annually (Creator)Up to 10 hours a month of clippingWatermark-free 1080p
Spikes Studio$14.09 a month, billed annually (PRO+)3,600 minutes a yearNo watermark, 1080p

On paper, reap's Creator plan gives more hours (up to 10 a month of clipping, against 5 hours of source video on KeyMo Starter) for about the same yearly money ($119.88 billed annually, against $120 for KeyMo Starter on yearly billing). The plans differ in other ways too, so the table is not a like-for-like ranking. See KeyMo against Klap for the direct comparison.

Where Klap is better than KeyMo

  • It lets you create one video free with no card. KeyMo has no free run.
  • Klap says it takes uploads up to 4 hours; KeyMo's limit is 3 hours (180 minutes) per source video.
  • Klap lists many more link sources, including Vimeo, Twitch, Google Drive, Zoom and Riverside. KeyMo takes MP4 or MOV uploads, plus YouTube links on paid plans.
  • Klap lists direct publishing to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn, unlimited social accounts and analytics on paid plans. This page does not claim any of that for KeyMo, which delivers clips as files and a ZIP export.
  • Klap says it works in 52 languages. This page makes no claim about KeyMo's language support, so check before using it for non-English audio.

Who should pick which

  • Pick Klap's free video if you want one test run with a watermark-free result before you pay anything.
  • Pick OpusClip, Vizard or reap's free tier if you want a recurring monthly allowance and can live with a watermark and 3 to 7 days of storage.
  • Pick KeyMo if the clips are going to be posted and you want a flat, stated spec (9:16, 1080p, no watermark, scored clips) for $12 a month or Rs 799.

FAQ

Is there a free alternative to Klap with no watermark?

Klap itself says it adds no watermark on its free video. Among alternatives, the free tiers we read at OpusClip, Vizard, reap, quso.ai, Kapwing and Spikes Studio all mention a watermark, and Wisecut's no-watermark free plan is limited to 480p.

What is the best free Klap alternative?

It depends on what you need. OpusClip's free plan exports up to 1080p, while Vizard, reap and quso.ai export 720p. All of them add a watermark, so the best free option is the one whose limits you can test with, not publish from.

Does KeyMo have a free plan like Klap's free video?

No. KeyMo has no free plan and nothing free to try first. Starter is $12 a month (Rs 799 in India), and every plan exports without a watermark, which is the trade for not having a free tier.

What do people on Reddit say about free Klap alternatives?

We did not read Reddit threads for this page, because it uses only each vendor's own pages with dates. If you check Reddit, look at the post date, since free tiers and limits change often.

Is Klap free to use for more than one video?

The pages we read describe the free offer as one video, not a monthly allowance. After that, Klap's paid plans start at $14 a month when billed yearly. The pages do not state a free-plan clip length or resolution cap.

Which free clip maker keeps your projects the longest?

On the pages we read, reap, quso.ai and Spikes Studio keep free work for 7 days. OpusClip, Vizard and Kapwing keep it for 3 days, so download your clips quickly.
