TikTok caption generator from a video topic
By the KeyMo team · Updated
This free TikTok caption generator makes three editable post-caption drafts from a topic, audience and tone. It does not watch your video, upload a file or invent details from a transcript. Use it for a first draft, then check every sentence against the actual clip and add only hashtags that describe what is really there.
TikTok caption generator
Make three editable post-caption drafts from the clip topic. Runs in your browser; it does not upload your video or pretend to know what happened in it.
Draft captions
1.this clip: here is the part worth keeping. Save this for later.
2.The useful takeaway from this clip is simpler than it sounds. Save this for later.
3.A quick clip about this clip. Watch the last line for the practical detail. Save this for later.
These are starting drafts, not claims about the clip. Check every line against the actual video before posting.
How the generator works
- Describe the clip in one plain sentence. Say what the viewer will learn, see or hear, not what you hope the post will do.
- Add an audience if the context matters, such as podcast hosts, designers or early-stage founders.
- Pick a tone, then copy the draft that sounds closest to the clip. Edit the claim, punctuation and call to action before posting.
- Watch the exported video once with sound and once muted. The caption should make sense without overpromising either version.
What makes a caption useful
A post caption has a different job from on-screen captions. On-screen captions help a viewer follow speech. The post caption gives the feed context: what the clip is about, who it is for and why someone may want to keep watching. One clear sentence is often more useful than a cloud of unrelated hashtags.
| Caption part | Good question | Example | Avoid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Topic | What is the clip about? | A founder explains a pricing change | A vague promise to reveal everything |
| Audience | Who would recognize the problem? | For early-stage founders | Every creator, business and entrepreneur |
| Takeaway | What should a viewer remember? | The price changed after support became the bottleneck | A result the clip never states |
| Action | What should the reader do next? | Save this for your next pricing review | Guaranteed growth or reach |
A worked example
Suppose the clip is a 35-second answer about cutting a podcast from six hours of editing to two. Enter the topic as “editing a podcast more efficiently,” the audience as “podcast producers” and choose Direct. The drafts will give you a starting angle. Replace any implied result with the number your clip actually supports, and remove the sentence if the video does not show how the result was measured.
- Keep the core claim in the clip, not in an imagined case study.
- Use a specific noun such as podcast editing instead of a broad word such as content.
- Add one useful context line if the clip begins mid-conversation.
- Write the final caption after the video is locked, because the edit may change the meaning.
Where KeyMo fits
This tool helps after you have a clip topic. KeyMo handles the earlier production step: it turns a long podcast or video into scored 9:16 clips, then adds word-by-word captions in one of 12 styles. KeyMo exports 1080x1920 clips without a watermark on any plan. Use the safe zone checker to review where the on-screen words sit, and see KeyMo pricing for the current plans.
The caption generator is intentionally small and local. It does not claim to know the video's performance, audience or truth. Those decisions stay with the person who made the recording.
