Clipping agency in India: how to start one or hire one
By Rakshit · Updated
A clipping agency in India cuts long videos into vertical clips for creators and brands. To start one, your fixed cost is the tooling: KeyMo is Rs 799 a month for 300 source minutes or Rs 1,999 for 900. To hire one, ask for sample clips on your own footage, written permission terms and clear rules on who posts.
Two searches, two different jobs
People type clipping agency India for two reasons. Some want to start a small business cutting podcasts and long videos for other people. Others run a show or a brand and want to hire an Indian clipping partner. The facts that matter are different for each, so this page splits them.
Either way the work is the same. A long video goes in, short vertical clips come out, and someone checks that every clip is allowed to exist. The rest of this guide is about costs, getting paid, language and the checks that keep that last part honest.
What the tooling costs in rupees
Visitors in India see KeyMo's prices in rupees; everyone else sees dollars. Payments go through Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record and applies tax according to where you are, and the total is shown at checkout before you confirm. Nothing here is tax advice, and for GST questions about your own business you need an accountant.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Source minutes a month | Cost per hour of source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Rs 799 | Rs 7,990 | 300 | about Rs 160 |
| Pro | Rs 1,999 | Rs 19,990 | 900 | about Rs 133 |
- There is no free plan and no trial.
- Minutes are counted on the length of the source video, not on the number of clips. They reset each billing period and do not carry over.
- Each source video can be up to 180 minutes, and every plan returns at most 15 clips per video with no watermark.
A sum to size the first month: a weekly one-hour show is about four hours of source, which fits inside Starter's 300 minutes. A client with an hour-long episode every working day is closer to 20 hours, which is more than Pro's 15. Know which side of that line a client sits on before you quote a price.
Getting paid in India: what Whop's pages say
Many clippers get paid through Whop Content Rewards. Whop's pages say little that is specific to India, so here is what they do say.
- Whop's general payout docs list India among the 200+ countries it supports for payouts. That page is about payouts across Whop, not Content Rewards specifically.
- Creators outside the United States need a bank account that accepts the currency of their registered country, and Whop pays out in that local currency.
- Withdrawing means setting up Whop Payments and completing KYC: your details, a linked bank and an ID upload.
- India is not on Whop's published list of countries where payouts, payments or accounts are unsupported because of sanctions.
What Whop does not publish: any Content Rewards rule specific to India, fees on clipper earnings, or the payout timing for clippers in particular. Ask in writing before you plan cash flow around it. For how per-view pay works, read how clippers are paid per view.
Language: Hindi and Hinglish
Indian clients often post in Hindi, English or a mix. KeyMo does not publish a list of supported languages, and we make no claim about Hindi or Hinglish captions. Run a sample episode before you promise a client anything.
For comparison, Vizard's help centre (dated 4 February 2026) lists Hindi among 40 languages it supports for video transcription, and reap's pricing page says it offers romanized script output, including Hinglish, as a Roman script mode. Those are other vendors' claims, read on 11 October 2026, and worth testing on your own audio too.
If you are hiring an agency or partner
There is no reliable ranking of the best clipper in India, and any list that claims one has no data to back it. Judge a partner on evidence instead.
- Ask for five sample clips cut from your own episode, not from their portfolio.
- Agree who owns the right to use the video and put the permission in writing.
- Ask who posts. If they post from your accounts, agree what access they get and how it is removed.
- Fix the deliverable: number of clips per episode, length, caption style and turnaround.
- Pay for finished work. The FTC's job-scam advice says honest employers do not ask you to pay to get a job, and the same instinct applies to a service that asks for a large advance before showing any work.
If you are starting one
Before the first invoice, settle these with each client in writing.
- Permission. Platform rules apply wherever you live. YouTube says its reused content policy applies even with the creator's permission, so clips need real editing or commentary to be monetized. This page does not cover Indian copyright law; ask a lawyer.
- Format. Vertical 9:16 at 1080x1920, 30 fps, H.264 with AAC audio, the KeyMo export, and whether the client wants captions in a particular style. KeyMo has 12 caption styles and the chat editor handles small changes.
- Delivery. Clips can be exported as a ZIP. Source files are kept for 7 days and clips for 30 days, so hand over and archive promptly.
